Malo le soifua manuia ma le lagiemama, tulou lo tou paia ma mamalu.

Greetings to you all and a very happy 2016. Talofa to all friends, families, supporters and sponsors of Wellington Samoa Rugby Union. Viia pea le alofa o le Atua i lana tausiga mo i tatou.
First, we congratulate our Executive Adviser Namulauulu Alama Ieremia for his appointment as the new Manu Samoa head coach. Secondly, we congratulate our former committee member Tupuola Masunu Tu’isila for his appointment as the manager for the Manu Samoa 7s team. Ia uliuli oulua tino ae malamalama lua ala ma ia sagai ane ai o le tai aua oulua faiva.

Congratulation to Mason Pule Malgamaalii for accepting the role of Rugby Director, replacing our friend, the late Misiluni Moananu. Malo lava le lotonu’u.

We remember our friends who have passed on last year, Jerry Collins, Willie Tou Collins and Misiluni Moananu. Rest in peace uso and tuagane.

We are extremely excited about the official launch of our inaugural women’s rugby team last year. This is a great milestone for the union. It is a start and again the chance is there to showcase and find new talent. Malo le taalo faatausala.

A big fa’afetai to all our committee members, coaches, village teams’ managements, and supporters for your tireless efforts to ensure we provide quality rugby initiatives for young Samoan women and men in Wellington. Fa’afetai fa’afetai lava.

It is our goal to provide the young children of Samoa the opportunity and platform to play rugby at any representative level whether for Wellington, All Blacks, Manu Samoa or Manu Sina.

Lastly, you will be happy to hear that we have a new website which is www.wsru.nz, thanks to our partners and sponsor WOWROX. Wowrox is moving the WSRU’s official Facebook page to WOWROX Professional network, so for all future updates please join us there. WOWROX will be maintaining our website as well as helping us with other online efforts to grow our community. Thank you very much for your support.

Again, we invite you all to offer your support wherever you can. If you have rugby skills, management skills, financial and project management experience or any other expertise, please do not hesitate to step up and help. There are a lot of opportunities to grow our union and grow our local rugby talent for higher honours.
